The Polytron sensing head SE Ex PR
M houses a catalytic sensor based on the principle of heat-of-combustion
(pellistor sensor). It is designed for the detection of combustible
gases and vapours in the range below the lower explosive limit (LEL).
In combination with the controllers
Regard Ex or Polytron SE Ex it offers a very flexible and easily extendable
gas detection system. With the concept of the Polytron and Regard family
the requirements for highest safety of operation and system availability
have been realized.
The most economical, yet reliable
and proven solution for a combustible gas and vapor monitoring system
is Polytron SE Ex. The sensing head is based on a catalytic bead sensor
which is connected to a Regard SE Ex or a Polytron SE Ex controller.
Since there is no electronics within the sensing head, it can be installed
in extreme temperatures from - 50 to + 85 ºC. The accuracy over
the whole temperature range is unrivaled. When cycling the whole temperature
range of 135 degrees, the deviation is less than +/- 2 %LEL @ 50 %LEL.
