The Mediatrix 1104 protects customer investment in existing analog devices (phones/faxes) by connecting up to four phones and/or faxes to an enterprise or carrier based VoIP network. This allows the Mediatrix 1104 to protect the investment in handsets, typically one of the most expensive parts of a network. For enterprise end-users, the Mediatrix 1104 provides a simple, transparent and cost-effective migration to an IP-based telephony infrastructure without the need to discard existing analog devices.

The Mediatrix 1104 also provides IP connectivity to analog CO trunk ports of a PBX or analog CO line ports of a Key System to IP-enable legacy telephone systems – allowing legacy system users to take advantage of VoIP benefits.

For service providers, carriers and system integrators, the Mediatrix 1104 creates additional revenue-generating opportunities by immediately bringing existing enterprise users online to new high-value IP telephony services. As a cost-effective solution, the Mediatrix 1104 is ideal for connecting enterprises to IP Centrex or hosted services deployed by carriers or service providers. System integrators can deploy the devices as part of a private end-to-end IP telephony solution.

The Mediatrix 1104 makes use of existing broadband access equipment to connect to any standards-based VoIP network. In addition to interfacing with legacy telephone systems, the Mediatrix 1104 also interfaces with IP-based telephone systems by connecting analog phones and fax machines to an IP-PBX or IP-Key System. Plus, the Mediatrix 1104 offers full integration with the Mediatrix IP Communication Server resulting in an end-to-end converged
enterprise solution.
