| User Friendly Display
CERMAX provides a user-friendly programmable display interface. On power
up, the instrument default mode gives an instant display of the measured
dewpoint, after system initialisation. For the user who who wishes to
utilise the instrument's more sophisticated functions, a drop down menu
system allows easy selection of a secondary input (external temperature
or pressure transducer), display of alternative engineering units, pressure
or temperature corrections, tagging and logging of measured data and
downloading to a host device such as a PC.
Data Logging Facility
Portable hygrometer users tend, almost by definition, to want to monitor how a particular process dewpoint condition may change over time. CERMAX makes this task simple. No longer does the operator need to locate and set up a chart recorder or external logging device. CERMAX does it all. Built into the instrument is a logging system which can store up to 10,000 measurement points. The logger will store both dewpoint and the second process variable (temperature or pressure), along with tag and time information. Logging start time, interval and test duration are all selected from the instrument's drop down menu. Once the log has been taken, data can be downloaded onto a PC using Windows'TM Terminal or a similar data transfer program. Data can then be easily sorted, analysed and charted using a spreadsheet or database program.
Intrinsically Safe
CERMAX I.S., in distinctive blue livery, is CENELEC certified by BASEEFA (EECS) for use in hazardous areas to EEx ia llC 155°C (T3). This allows the advanced features and rugged reliability of CERMAX to be applied within petrochemical and natural gas plants for measurements of non-flammable and flammable gases. On a refinery, LNG plant, offshore platform or natural gas terminal, CERMAX I.S. provides the site chemist and operational staff with an effective means to check the moisture concentration at any point in their process. CERMAX I.S. is also perfect for any industrial application requiring safe measurement of flammable gases, such as hydrogen used as a coolant for electricity generator sets or as a controlled furnace atmosphere for heat treatment of metals. CERMAX I.S. is also certified through Factory Mutual (USA) to Intrinsically Safe CL1, Div1, GpA, B, C, & D T3C and CSA (Canada) to Ex ia IIC T3 (Class 1, Zone 0, Group IIC).
Long Battery Life
CERMAX uses a sealed rechargeable battery pack which gives an average usage time of more than 24 hours between charges, at normal room temperature.
 |
|
| The battery pack is easily removable and spare battery packs are available so that the instrument can be permanently operational.
Charging can be achieved either by removal of the battery pack or via the integral charger jack socket for the standard version. For the I.S. version the battery pack must be removed from the instrument for charging.
Accessories
Customise your CERMAX to your specific application by adding items from the range of accessories:
Soft carry bag
A protective woven cotton bag with accessory pouch.
Pressure transducer*
Conects directly to CERMAX auxilliary input port (requires
extenal power supply).
Temperature transducer*
F or connection directly to CERMAX auxilliary port (requires external
power supply).
PRT: -50 to +150°C
Thermocouple: 0 to +1100°C

Sampling system
Two sampling systems are available:
Premium sampling system
in 316 stainless steel comprising 3m, 1/8" OD sample tubing, combined coalescing/particulate filter with drain purge valve and 'pigtail' 200 bar g pressure gauge, inlet/outlet flow valves for dewpoint measurement at atmospheric and at pressure, and vent flowmeter.
General purpose sampling system comprising 3m, 6mm OD, ptfe tubing,
aluminium coalescing/particulate filter, 10 bar g pressure gauge, brass
inlet/outlet valves for dewpoint measurement at atmospheric and at pressure,
and vent flowmeter.
Carry strap
A 1.5 metre adjustable woven cotton strap with shoulder pad which can be used either directly with CERMAX or in conjunction with the carry bag.
