A1200p Installation Guide Document Rev 0.01

A1200P is a modular analog telephony interface product. It is designed to have equivalent capacity of small to middle business PBX usage. Each A1200P can have up to 12 ports per card, and user can install 4 pcs of A1200p in one PC to get 48 ports.

A1200P must be used with FXO-100 or FXS-100 together to build a workable system. The FXO-100 and FXS-100 module is also pin to pin compatible with x100m and s100m.

Telephone Cable Installation:

The A1200P have 3 RJ45 socket on the bracket. Each jack has 4 corresponding module installed, positioned on the mother board.

Each RJ45 socket has 8 pins, A1200P uses the 2 pins of it as a pair, to connect to your 2-wire telephone line, so each RJ45 sock can connect to 4 telephone lines.

Please see figure 1 and figure 2 for jack and telephone line wire. Software installation:

The A1200p uses a zaptel conform software device driver on linux. User can download the driver from www.openvox.com.cn, and build it in linux system. To use A1200P, you should have zaptel pre-installed.

A1200p device driver is a signal file: opvxa1200.c. You can build and install it through the following steps:

1. Copy the opvxa1200.c to /usr/src/zaptel
2. Modify /usr/src/zap/makefile:
a. find the line that starts with Modules=
b. add opvxa1200 in it. My makefile is like:

3. Under linux shell, type the command: make install; then the device driver will be built and installed.
4. Use command modprobe opvxa1200 and modprobe –r opvxa1200 to load/unload driver.
5. All other special params such as country setup, channel configuration in zaptel.conf etc is exactly the same as you are using TDM400p except this card has 12 ports.
