  Easy clean ceramic top
  Robust construction
  Electronic temperature and speed controls
  Powerful stirring action
Full safety compliance (IEC1010, CE, ISO9001 manufacture)

Bibby Scientific offer a comprehensive range of hotplates and stirrers to cater for the needs of the modern laboratory. All models are of rugged construction and feature a ceramic top plate for maximum convenience. The Models 1103 and 1203 feature an integral LCD display, providing superior control of heating and stirring parameters.

Heating - Precise heating is achieved by the solid state electronics which monitors and controls the heating element. Heat rise is fast in comparison to normal, high mass steel or aluminium heating elements. The ceramic surface temperature can be controlled from just above ambient to 450°C.

Stirring - preset speed levels are precisely maintained from 100-1200rpm using an optical tacho feedback system in conjunction with advanced electronic control. Smooth, yet rapid speed changes ensure that the magnetic follower always stays under control.

Ceramic top plate - chemically resistant, easily cleaned and patterned to define the heated zone. It can safely accommodate a number of small containers allowing simmering around the edge of the heated area, whilst heating vigorously in the heated zone.

Hot Warning LED - provided for user safety. This will flash when the tile temperature is in excess of 55°:C.

Low profile, cast aluminium case - Carefully designed to ensure that any spillage is prevented from entering the unit. The robust cast plinth will withstand the most severe handling, whilst the high quality paint finish minimises the effects of chemical spillage.

1103 & 1203 LCD Hotplate Stirrers

The custom liquid crystal display incorporated into the instrument allows the desired temperature of the heated medium to be set with a resolution of 0.1°C (1°F.)

The internal software algorithms utilising the PID control techniques and the Pt resistance sensing element will then ensure a rapid heat rise to the preset temperature, but will also ensure that the preset value is never exceeded. Preset values between ambient and 199.9°C can be selected.

If the external temperature sensor is not connected the instrument will default to an internal control element which can allow the top plate temperature to be set, vis the display, from 0 to 100% of the maximum temperature (nominally >450°C.)

A unique safety feature ensures that temperature control reverts to the internal sensor if the external sensor is not fitted to the retort clip aboave the ceramic heating area.
